In the society we live in, as you well know, it is often difficult to stop and just observe how you feel and what you really need.

Stress ends up dominating your days and your emotions turn against you . How to get out of this situation? We will show you below.

The truth is that we have not learned to identify our emotions, to observe them and understand why each one of them appears . We have made them our enemies, and all due to misunderstanding and lack of practice in observing them.

What does it mean to observe emotions?

It is usual that in our day to day we get carried away by a chaotic rhythm, where anxiety and stress prevail . We have a multitude of thoughts to which we hook and let them haunt us.

These thoughts in turn generate actions, which lead to a multitude of emotions such as sadness, rage, anger, fear, etc. This roller coaster and emotional swing ends up destroying us if we do not know well how to do good management.

Emotions are signals that indicate states in which we find ourselves, situations that we are not addressing and conflicts that we are avoiding. We can’t solve any of this if we don’t stop and listen to what our own body and organism are trying to tell us.

Observing emotions means that you listen to yourself , reflect and stop the thoughts that are repeated over and over again by way of rumination. It means taking charge of your life and taking charge of your experience.

How can you manage your emotions?

One of the main keys lies in the fact that you learn to listen to yourself , for this you have to control your thoughts and you have to reflect in greater depth about your vulnerabilities.

Many times the attitudes and behaviors that we have are part of defense mechanisms, of situations that we are avoiding.

In this way we live continuously defending ourselves against something, while fears continue to be fed . By putting your emotions in order, attending to them and understanding them, you will be able to discover what you need and where you want to go in your life.

To do good management of your emotions there are various techniques. Concentration is essential , and it can be exercised with relaxation techniques, meditation and mindfulness . These are some of the behaviors that you should reinforce to manage your emotions, and thus enjoy good mental health:

  • Feel the emotions, do not avoid or repress them.
  • Observe and understand why and what they are there for. Emotion is not your enemy, it is a valuable tool for self-knowledge.
  • Become aware of what you live, what you feel and what you think, that way you will have control of your experience.
  • Accept your emotions and use them to face your conflicts.

In short, listening and observing emotions helps to manage them . Something of great importance to not get carried away by your own fears and anxiety. Turn each emotion into a resource to understand what is happening to you. Remember that they are your allies, not your enemies.
