To make this healthy chocolate bar you will not need ingredients that are very difficult to find , but you will be able to benefit from its properties and its delicious chocolate flavor.
The benefits of chocolate are very wide and can help you both during pregnancy and even in a normal diet. Cocoa has an essential compound called theobromine , which is a substance that helps with the dilation of blood vessels, and can help lower blood pressure . Consumed in large quantities, on the contrary, it could lead to high blood pressure.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of raw honey.
- 1 cup of raw cocoa without sugar.
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Instructions
In a heat-resistant glass container or measuring cup, add the coconut oil. Fill a small pot with a few inches of water and place the glass measuring cup in it.
Heat until the coconut oil melts (at room temperature – not hot). Note: Do not skip this step or microwave the oil as this will remove the antimicrobial properties of the oil and it will not mix well with the cocoa powder. If you end up with a watery mess it was because you heated the oil very hot.
While the coconut oil is coming to room temperature, add all the other ingredients to a food processor. Then add the coconut oil and beat until combined in the food processor. You can also add walnuts, chopped hazelnuts or any ingredient of your liking that combines well with your chocolate if you like.
Put some plastic wrap or wax paper in a loaf pan to cover the bottom and sides of the loaf pan. Pour the chocolate mixture into the mold and cover with the plastic (carefully). Flatten to match thickness. It can be 1/2 inch, less or more, depending on your taste.
Place the mold with the mixture in the freezer and let it rest for about 20 minutes. Remove and cut into bite-size pieces. Put them in a jar and store them in the fridge.
