We can make the celery grow back and we can get it at home. This is a very simple way to start our own garden despite living in small spaces like an apartment.

Easy way to grow celery

This project is almost as simple as the onion growing project. It simply consists of cutting the stalks of the celery from the base of the celery that you bought in the store and that you use normally.

  • Instead of throwing out the base, rinse it off and place it in a small bowl or plate with warm water on or near a sunny window (the base should be facing down).
  • Leave the celery base in the water for a week or so.
  • Over the course of the week, the surrounding stems begin to dry out significantly, but the very small yellow leaves in the center of the base begin to thicken, growing upward and out of the center, and turn dark green. .

Growth is slow, but steady and evident.

After days 5-7 were complete, transfer the celery base to a pot and cover it completely (except for the tips of the shoots) with a potting soil mix.

It is watered abundantly and after planting in the ground, global growth takes off. Not only will you have celery leaves regenerating from the base, but you can also clearly see the stalks making their way up and out. It is really fascinating what we do not have even a week after planting in the ground:

You can also see some more options to start growing your own vegetables at home, and without the greatest effort, but if learning perhaps together with the youngest of the house, the art of growing our own food.
