In a blender, add the spinach, romaine lettuce, and enough water for the mixture (about half a cup). Mix until pureed and smooth, add the frozen mango, banana and blend. Mixing the veggies first will help achieve a smoother consistency if like me, you haven’t had time to get a Vitamix yet. This is another of the rich and healthy shakes that you can incorporate into the children’s diet.

Strawberry banana smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 6 oz frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup of almond milk

Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Frozen fruit has a tendency to stick together and become difficult to mix when very cold, so let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before mixing. Serves 1 serving

Strawberry flax seed smoothie

Just two tablespoons of flax seeds, weighing 95 calories, contain more than 140% of the daily value of omega 3 fatty acids. • 2 bananas frozen and sliced
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons ground flax seeds
